On November 20, 2024, Panuwat Chalongkuamdee, our founding partner and a renowned expert in business law and mergers and acquisitions (M&A), delivered a lecture on “Business Law” for approximately 40 high-level finance professionals and managements of Provincial Electricity Authority of Thailand (PEA). This session was part of the Comprehensive Leader Program organized by the Thammasat Coaching Consulting and Networking Center (CONC).
PEA is a state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Interior, tasked with distributing electricity to all provinces in Thailand, except for Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Samut Prakan, which are covered by the Metropolitan Electricity Authority. PEA has strategically restructured its operations to adapt to current challenges, focusing on efficient electricity service delivery while continuously improving its organizational quality and customer service. Its ambition is to become a leading energy utility company that fulfills customer expectations, creates societal value, and champions environmental sustainability through the integration of digital technologies. PEA is on a determined path toward evolving into a PEA Digital Utility.
The primary goal of this session was to provide participants with a clear yet thorough understanding of business law and risk management. This knowledge will empower them to identify and mitigate legal risks, especially those related to financial decision-making in investments, asset management, and corporate operations.
Moreover, the session emphasized the critical importance of adhering to environmental and sustainability laws, which play a key role in shaping strategic decisions. The aim is to ensure that PEA’s financial operations align with relevant legal standards while supporting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. This alignment not only ensures legal compliance but also strengthens PEA’s reputation and contributes to its long-term sustainability.
